Arshad plays most &#39despicable&#39 guy in &#39Short Cut&#39

Mumbai, May 4 (IANS) Funny man Arshad Warsi is upbeat about his forthcoming film &#39Short Cut&#39, but says he plays one of the worst characters ever.

&#39I&#39ve never played a more despicable character in my life. I never thought I&#39d play someone so low down. When I watched myself I thought … how could anyone be so cheap?&#39 he told IANS from Goa, where he is shooting for &#39Gol Maal Returns&#39.

Arshad has attempted a new kind of acting in the film by Neera Vora. &#39See I play a bad actor. So when the camera is on I do some terrible acting. When my character is off-sets he&#39s a bad actor trying to behave like a normal decent guy, which he is not. I just hope audiences get the point and don&#39t accuse me of hamming.&#39

The actor has been travelling a lot lately. &#39I was in Bangkok for almost two months, came back to Mumbai for two days and left for Mauritius. Now I&#39m in Goa and then I go to London for a long schedule. I&#39m seriously thinking of getting NRI status.&#39

But Arshad had a great birthday April 19 - he was shooting for a song for &#39Short Cut&#39 in the middle of the ocean in Mauritius.

&#39Normally I don&#39t like birthdays. They&#39re so embarrassing. But this one was special. My choreographer Bosco and 20 dancers got into a catamaran with 200 beer bottles and just sailed away … It was liberating,&#39 he said.

His latest release, &#39Mr. White Mr. Black&#39, had some name problems. It was earlier entitled &#39Mr. Black Mr. White&#39.

&#39But then Subhash Ghai&#39s film &#39Black & White&#39 came along. To avoid confusion, the film&#39s title was flipped around,&#39 the actor explained.

&#39It&#39s a nice clean comedy and that&#39s the only kind of comedy I can do.&#39

Arshad&#39s first production goes on floors July 10, but he is still searching for a heroine and a title.

&#39I am yet to get a proper title for it. Though tentatively we&#39ve called it &#39I Believe In Angels&#39. Everyone thinks English titles don&#39t work. So we&#39re searching for a title and a heroine. No one wants to work with me. I think I need to have a long talk with god…or maybe plastic surgery will help?&#39 he remarked in a lighter vein.

Arshad regrets missing out on &#39Teen Patti&#39 with Amitabh Bachchan.

&#39I&#39m dying to work with Mr. Bachchan. But I couldn&#39t possibly mess around with my dates in a film that stars him … Next time …&#39
