Gears of War named 'Ultimate Game of the Year' at Golden Joystick Awards
London, October 27 (ANI): Gears of War, a tactical third-person shooter video game, was named the 'Ultimate Game of the Year' at the 25th Annual Golden Joystick Awards, held at the Park Lane Hilton Hotel in London on Friday.
The game, which sold more than three million copies in 10 weeks, also won three more awards, including 'Xbox Game of the Year' and the editors' choice.
Other award winners announced during the ceremony included multiple Bafta award-winning 'Wii Sports', which was named the 'Best Family Game'.
The winners in 18 categories were selected on the basis of the votes cast by about three quarters of a million UK gamers.

According to the BBC, Nintendo took home publisher of the year and the innovation award for its Wii console.
